"I spent much of the last decade of my career teaching and mentoring future women leaders. In our WomenLead program, we emphasized “being at the table.” Kristine is the rare scholar-practitioner who provides the explicit tools to make that possible. keynote 1: kristine's signature keynote

THE CleAREST VoICE IN THE ROom

Close The Voice-Values Gap™ and Watch Your Organization Perform.

Every organization is sitting on its next great idea. The problem is the person holding that idea has learned to hold back. They're calculating the risk. Editing themselves in real time. Staying quiet in the rooms where it matters most.

This is The Voice-Values Gap™: the distance between what your people believe inside and what they actually say out loud at work. The wider that gap grows, the more your organization pays for it — in decision quality, retention, and the innovation that never makes it out of someone's head.

Grounded in the proprietary VOICE Framework™ and behavioral research, this keynote gives leaders and their teams the language, tools, and conviction to close that gap. The organizational performance lift follows.

 A POWERFUL FIT FOR ERGS
This keynote connects individual voice to organizational outcomes – giving ERG leaders the business case language to bring to executive sponsors. The message is universal, the resonance for underrepresented groups is deep.

Your Future SToRY

Write the next chapter of your career and your organization with intention

Most professionals don't drift into their careers by accident. They drift by default — letting the urgency of today crowd out the vision of tomorrow. This keynote asks a different question: What is the future story you want to tell? And what would you have to say, decide, and do differently to make it real?

Drawing on her own story of leaving a $2B corporate career to build something she believed in. She shows leaders how to write their next chapter with the same clarity and intention they bring to their best work. This is a keynote about agency: the belief that you don't have to let life happen to you.

KEy tAKEawAys:

Define what success looks like in the next chapter — on their own terms, not someone else's script

Communicate with clarity, confidence, and authority in the moments that matter most

Ideas don't win because they're the best ones in the room. They win because the person presenting them knows how to move people toward a decision. Kristine draws on two decades of executive experience — leading brand presentations to Walmart, pitching strategy to boards, and developing leaders through the highest-stakes moments of their careers — to give audiences a practical framework for communicating with authority. Less hedging. More clarity. Decisions that actually move.

This keynote and workshop are delivered as part of Mic Drop WorkFORCE — a branded program co-created with Jess Ekstrom, Forbes Top-Rated Speaker and Founder of Mic Drop Workshop, built on the proprietary M3 Method. Available as a keynote, a half-day or full-day workshop, or both.

M3 METHOD:
Our proprietary framework teaches leaders not just what to say, but how to say it.

Workshop & trainings

Workshops are where the keynote becomes practice. Each is designed to be paired with a keynote or booked as a standalone half-day or full-day experience for leadership teams, ERGs,
and professional development programs.

These sessions are interactive, practical and grounded in real workplace scenarios – ensuring the shift from understanding to action.

Workshop 1: The VOICE Framework™

A hands-on workshop for leaders who want to communicate with power

A deep-dive into the five-part framework at the heart of Kristine's keynote and book. Participants work through each element — Values, Outcome, Identity, Consistency, Energy — with guided exercises, peer coaching, and real-world application. They leave with a personal communication plan they can put to work immediately.

Half-day or full-day · Pairs with The Clearest Voice keynote

Workshop 2: Your Brand, Your Voice

Build a personal brand that sounds exactly like you

Most professionals have a brand. They just haven't defined it intentionally. This workshop helps leaders articulate who they are, what they stand for, and how to communicate it consistently across every room they walk into. Grounded in StoryBrand principles and Kristine's two decades of brand-building experience, it's part strategy, part communication coaching, part permission to own who you already are.

Half-day · Ideal for leadership teams, ERGs, and high-potential programs

Workshop 3: Know What You Stand For

Clarify your professional values — and change how you communicate

The V in VOICE isn't a warm-up. It's the foundation. This workshop takes participants through a guided process to identify, articulate, and operationalize their professional values. When leaders know what they stand for, they always know what to say. Directly tied to the book's core framework and immediately applicable in day-to-day leadership.

2–3 hours · Pairs with any keynote · Strong fit for ERGs and team onboarding

Workshop 4: Present Ideas That Influence Decisions

Workshop version of Keynote 3

The keynote as a working session where participants bring real ideas they need to pitch, present, or move forward. Kristine coaches them through structure, delivery, and decision-making language in real time. Highly customizable for sales teams, leadership teams, and executive communication programs.

Half-day or full-day · Executive team offsite · Sales kickoff

Q&A with the author

Straight Answers with Kristine

Questions worth sitting with on leadership, voice and what it actually takes to build organizations where the best ideas get heard.

73%

of the time, gender-diverse teams make better business decisions
(WEF)

58%

higher profits where womens voices are heard and engaged
(Gallup)

45%

higher earnings per share in companies with women in leadership
(WEF)

What's the business case for closing The Voice-Values Gap™?

The ROI is measurable. Teams with more voices actively heard make better decisions 73% of the time (WEF). Ineffective communication costs large organizations over $100M annually. And you don't lose talented people because of pay alone. You lose them because they stopped feeling heard. Closing the Gap isn't a culture initiative. It's a performance strategy.

What do you say to leaders who think this is a "soft skills" issue?

I'd say they're confusing soft with unimportant. Every hard business outcome: a decision that gets made, a strategy that gets implemented, a team that stays or leaves, runs through communication. The Voice-Values Gap™ is the distance between what your people are capable of and what your organization is actually getting from them. That's not soft. That's one of the most consequential gaps in any organization.

What's the first thing someone should do after reading the book?

Identify one conversation they've been avoiding, and have it. Not with a framework. Not with a rehearsed script. Just with the clarity of knowing what they stand for and what they want to say. The VOICE Framework™ is the foundation, but the first step is always the same: speak. The rest gets easier from there.

How do you speak up when you're the most junior person in the room?

Start with a question rather than a statement. Questions are inherently curious, not confrontational, and they create space for your perspective without requiring you to declare a position. Then, once you're in the habit of speaking, the statements come more naturally. Your seniority doesn't determine the value of your insight. The room loses every time you stay quiet.

How can introverts become powerful communicators?

Introversion is not the obstacle people think it is. Introverts are often the most thoughtful people in the room. They process deeply, they listen well, and when they speak, people pay attention precisely because they don't speak constantly. The work for introverts isn't to become louder. It's to trust that their timing and their perspective are already valuable, and then act on that trust.

What does an organization with no Voice-Values Gap™ actually look like?

Meetings where the best idea wins, not the loudest one. Leaders who get real feedback instead of polished versions of what people think they want to hear. Teams that disagree productively because they trust the process and each other. Retention of the people who, at another organization, would have quietly left. It's not a utopia. It's just an organization that has decided the cost of silence is higher than the cost of honesty.

What do you hope workplaces look like in 2056, thirty years after this book's release?

I hope The Voice-Values Gap™ is a concept people have to look up because they've never experienced it. I hope meetings are places where ideas are interrogated, not people. I hope leaders are chosen for their ability to draw out the best in others, not just their ability to project confidence from the front of the room. And I hope the next generation of leaders, the ones reading this book now, or whose parents and mentors read it, never have to calculate whether their voice belongs in the room. I hope they just know that it does.

She Knows Exactly What it Costs to Stay Quiet.

Most leaders know exactly what needs to be said in the room. Far too often, they don't say it.

Dr. Kristine Sickels calls this The Voice-Values Gap™, and the cost runs in both directions: leaders carry the quiet weight of words they didn't speak, and organizations pay in unflagged risks, watered-down decisions, and strategies built on the loudest voice instead of the clearest one.

Kristine helps leaders and organizations close that gap. After twenty years inside the rooms where decisions get made – most recently as SVP of Marketing for a $2 billion portfolio including Crockpot, Calphalon, Mr. Coffee, and Oster – she now teaches The VOICE Framework™ to leaders who want to speak with clarity and conviction when it counts.

She is CEO of Mic Drop, co-founder of C-Sweet, and author of The Clearest Voice in the Room (Mic Drop Books, September 2026). She holds a doctorate from Georgia State and an MBA from Michigan.

Questions Meeting Planners Ask

How do we choose the right format – keynote, workshop, or both?

It depends on your goals and time available. A keynote alone is powerful for inspiration and shared language. Adding a workshop creates the space for teams to practice and apply what they've learned — which is where lasting behavior change happens. For multi-day events or leadership development programs, pairing both is the most effective approach. Reach out and we'll help you find the right fit for your event.

Can we combine a keynote and a workshop in the same event?

Absolutely — and it's one of the most popular configurations. A keynote in the morning sets the foundation and creates shared language across your audience. A workshop in the afternoon gives leaders and teams the space to practice, apply, and internalize what they've learned. Together they move people from understanding to action.

Does Kristine customize her keynote for our audience and industry?

Yes. Every engagement begins with a conversation about your audience, your organization's specific communication challenges, and what a successful experience looks like for you. Kristine draws on her 20+ years of executive experience across multiple industries to make the content relevant and resonant for your specific context — not a generic talk off a shelf.

What is the typical engagement timeline from inquiry to event?

We recommend reaching out at least 60–90 days before your event date for the best availability and preparation time. For larger conferences or events requiring significant customization, 4–6 months is ideal. That said, we can sometimes accommodate shorter timelines — reach out and we'll let you know what's possible.

Do you support virtual and global teams?

Yes. Kristine delivers virtual keynotes and workshops that are specifically designed for remote and hybrid audiences — not a repackaged in-person talk. Virtual engagements include adapted formats, interactive elements, and follow-up resources to ensure the experience translates across time zones and screen sizes.

Can we order bulk copies of the book for our attendees?

Yes, and this is one of the most effective ways to extend the impact of the keynote. Orders of 200+ copies come with a complimentary virtual lunch and learn with Kristine — giving your team the chance to go deeper with the material and ask questions directly.

If you’d like to purchase multiple copies of The Clearest Voice in the Room for your team, event, or to give as gifts, please contact orders@pagetwo.com. Discounts may be available, depending on volume.

Is this keynote right for an ERG or women's leadership event?
It's a strong fit — and it's specifically designed to connect individual voice to organizational outcomes, which gives ERG leaders the business case language they need to bring to executive sponsors. The Voice-Values Gap framing is universal, but the resonance in ERG and women's leadership settings is particularly deep. See the ERG section above for specific recommendations by program.
